Jon Shoop, Store Owner

Jon, Total Nutrition

Jon was born and raised in Southern California by his parents, along with his older brother and younger triplets.

The Shoop family has always been an active family with twice yearly trips to Mammoth Mountain for skiing and snowboarding in the winter and hiking in the summer.

Most days the Shoop kids could be found walking around the neighborhood with Mrs. Shoop, while weekends were spent at the beach and riding bikes. One of Jon’s first memories is playing in the daycare of a local gym while his parents worked out.

Growing up Jon was active in a variety of sports like Karate, gymnastics, BMX riding, bodyboarding and surfing, and snowboarding.

In his early teens Jon was playing soccer, baseball, and was a wrestler on the club level team.

In high school Jon was one of the only freshman capable of wrestling in Junior Varsity tournaments. He went on to letter in wrestling his Sophomore year of high school.

Throughout high school Jon played football starting every game at his offensive line position in both his Junior and Senior years of high school.

entrepreneurJon’s senior year was one of the best years for the school’s football team. That year the team became league champions in their division for the first time in a decade.

After high school, Jon started working for Charlie Hartwig, a nutrition store owner, in Austin, TX in July of 2011. It was the perfect fit since he had completed his nutrition certification and had taken many classes in nutrition and kinesiology in college.

He did his first fitness competition a day after Cody and he opened up Total Nutrition Tyler. The competition was the Ronnie Coleman Classic, Jon competed in Men’s Physique and placed in the top ten of his class.

Now Jon works out daily at either Lifetime Fitness or 24 Hour fitness in Mansfield, TX. where his original store is located. He also mountain bikes and does trail running during the warmer months to stay active.
